Acne is a common skin disorder that usually occurs during puberty and in some cases can continue or develop in later life. Symptoms include greasy skin, blackheads, whiteheads and large red spots filled with pus and sebum. Acne is mostly found on the face but can also affect the neck, chest, back and groin area. Causes can include hormonal changes and imbalances, poor dietary and lifestyle choices, stress, a poor skincare routine, deficiencies in certain nutrients and incorrect fat metabolism. A healthy diet and lifestyle along with supplements and the appropriate skin care can all help to improve the appearance of acne symptoms. Some skincare products can aggravate and dry out your skin and therefore cause it to produce more sebum. A gentle skincare routine is recommended that will not irritate the skin further.
